This time we connected the Centre social Louis Braille from Lyon with the Pensioners’ Association Matica from Rijeka. In the very first minutes of the meeting, it already felt as if the members of these two institutions had known each other forever – a clear sign that this is just the beginning of a wonderful friendship.
For our French friends, we prepared a guided tour of Rijeka in French. At the Srdoči Club, we explored the art of decoupage together. Using digital tools, we described photos taken in Rijeka while practising English with members of the English Club at the Matica Association. We also visited Kastav, where the School of Foreign Languages Kastav Euroway welcomed us. Their Walk the Walk of Kastav passport guided us through our exploration.
Our guests from Lyon introduced us to the delicate art of quilling, while the final day culminated in a true culinary fusion: kroštule, maneštrica, sausages in wine, chestnut cake and tuna pâté from Rijeka met with the French pear clafoutis and olive cake.
This wonderful exchange shows that Erasmus+ projects do more than connect organisations – they bring together people and cultures and make some new friendships!!
Take a look at how we enjoyed ourselves in the gallery below.
