About the project

DIGITAL WELLBEING FOR FAMILIES

Digital Wellbeing for Families is a transnational Erasmus+ project aimed at empowering families to confidently and safely navigate the digital world. The project builds on the success of a previous initiative, Digital Upbringing, to offer targeted support to families—especially those in rural and disadvantaged areas.

The project promotes digital literacy, online safety, and healthier screen habits by fostering intergenerational learning between parents, guardians, and children. It also enhances the capacity of adult educators to deliver engaging and impactful digital wellbeing workshops. Over the course of 18 months (January 2025 – June 2026), the project will reach over 200 families, engage 16 adult educators, and share its results widely through online platforms and local events.

Together, the partners aim to create a safer, more informed, and connected digital experience for families across Europe.

PROJECT ACTIVITIES

The project includes four core activities:

1. Digital Wellbeing Workshops for Parents, Guardians, and Children
Each partner will deliver workshops to at least 50 families, focusing on themes like screen time balance, emotional intelligence, online safety, and digital identity. The workshops will promote mutual learning between generations and help families adopt healthier digital habits. In addition, 18 Digital Wellbeing Micro-Learning Cards will be developed to provide parents with bite-sized, actionable tips to support digital parenting at home and via social media.

2. Digital Wellbeing Guidebook for Adult Educators
To support educators, a comprehensive guidebook will be created, offering practical advice, resources, activities, and teaching strategies for delivering intergenerational digital wellbeing workshops. The guidebook will also include reflection questions and real-life scenarios, ensuring it’s user-friendly and adaptable. It will be presented at a dedicated online event involving at least 16 educators across the four partner countries.

3. Sharing and Promotion
Each partner will host Intergenerational Family Celebration Events to showcase the project’s outcomes and engage local communities. Promotion will continue through social media, newsletters, press releases, and educational platforms such as EPALE and Salto. The project will also leverage the existing website and social media channels from the Digital Upbringing project to maximise visibility.
