Critical Thinking in Education: Teaching, Learning and Decision-Making

Explore logic, reasoning, and active learning strategies to cultivate lifelong critical thinking abilities.

Course summary

This interactive 5-day course provides learners with the knowledge and practical tools to cultivate critical thinking in contemporary education. Participants will explore the foundations of critical thinking, learn to analyse arguments, evaluate evidence, recognise logical fallacies and cognitive biases, and critically assess information from digital media and AI-generated content. Through active learning, collaborative activities, case studies and hands-on workshops, participants will experience evidence-based teaching strategies that promote inquiry, reflection and informed decision-making. The course also explores the opportunities and challenges of using digital technologies and artificial intelligence to support critical thinking in educational settings. The programme concludes with the design of practical learning activities, enabling participants to confidently integrate critical thinking into their own teaching practice and support learners in becoming reflective, responsible and independent thinkers.
